Daisy Casuso
Co-Founder and Co-Owner of hip.e boutique
Daisy Casuso born on July 26, 1959, left Havana, Cuba at the early age of two, bringing the memories of family tradition to Miami Beach, Florida. After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree at Florida International University in Business Administration, Daisy combined the three things she valued most, family, business and fashion. Following in her family's footsteps, Daisy opened an optical boutique, all while balancing marriage, raising her two sons and volunteering her free time as Auxiliary President at Mercy Hospital.
Daisy realized her talent and passion for apparel after friends constantly sought out tips from her chic, sophisticated yet edgy personal style. “I always knew that some day I would open a boutique. It was just a matter of time for fate to take its course, which eventually led me to meet my future business partner, Mari.” Daisy and Mari Alarcon-Grimalt met as two hard-working mothers bubbling over with creative ideas, but each in search of the right partner and opportunity ̶ their ultimate goal to open a trendy clothing boutique. With their combined education and love of fashion, Daisy and Mari were a perfect match.
Soon after the two fashionistas met, hip.e was conceptualized with the help of Mari’s daughter, Ali who named the boutique. “I see hip.e as the go-to boutique for women searching for the perfect outfit for that special date or party; or simply a place where friends can meet for a leisurely day of shopping, while enjoying the unique décor and an inviting ambiance. Looking ahead, I see hip.e opening in other areas of Florida as well as New York and Los Angeles.”
Inspired by her style icon Coco Chanel, Daisy lives by two fashion mandates: “always accessorize and never wear white before Easter!” As a Miami trend-setter and a business maven, Daisy believes that, “A business should be run by someone who loves what they are doing and truly believes in what the business stands for. A business should be fun but at the same time, organized. You have to offer the best of everything to your client.”
In her spare time, Daisy enjoys shopping with her mother and friends, especially at vintage shops for unique key items. Daisy believes she works better multi-tasking and enjoys staying home with her husband Louis, a criminal attorney, and their two sons, Luis, 19, and Antonio, 12, watching television or cooking Cuban dishes.
